Diploma Certificate Apostille Attestation Fees: Priced by Board, Route and Destination, Not by a Rate Card

Diploma certificate apostille attestation fees depend on something most price lists ignore: a polytechnic diploma is awarded by a State Board of Technical Education, not by a university, and that single fact changes which desk authenticates it and what the file ends up costing.

INFINITYGRO runs the Delhi side of diploma certificate attestation and apostille work: Notary, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, the Ministry of External Affairs and embassy legalisation where the destination needs it. This page sets out where every charge arises, honestly.

  • Polytechnic, engineering diploma, ITI and university-awarded diplomas all handled
  • Diploma certificate attestation and apostille quoted per file, in writing, before anything reaches a counter
  • We say upfront if a certificate cannot be carried through the chain
  • Nothing added to diploma certificate apostille attestation fees once the quote is agreed

What do diploma certificate apostille attestation fees actually cover?

Diploma certificate apostille attestation fees cover a chain of counters, not one stamp. A diploma certificate apostille file passes a Notary Public, a Sub-Divisional Magistrate and the Ministry of External Affairs; a diploma certificate attestation file bound for the Gulf adds that country's embassy after the Ministry. Each stage carries its own charge, and the handling, movement between offices and tracked courier sit on top of all of them.

What separates a diploma file from a degree file is the step before all that. A degree is verified through a university. A polytechnic diploma is verified through a State Board of Technical Education, and an ITI trade certificate through the vocational training system. Different departments, different timelines, and that is why diploma certificate apostille fees are quoted per file rather than published as a list.

Short version: a diploma going to a convention country is the cheapest file we handle; a trade certificate going to the UAE or Qatar with an embassy stamp is the dearest. Everything else sits between.

Watch: diploma certificate apostille explained in 80 seconds

Before you compare diploma certificate apostille attestation fees, see how a hotel management, IT, ITI or any other diploma gets apostilled: the same procedure for every diploma, with State HRD only when your checklist asks for it, and the SDM route through a notary, the SDM and the MEA for most diplomas.

In this video

Checklist says HRDHRD attestation by the State that issued the diploma, then the MEA apostille.
Most diplomas: SDM routeNotary (Delhi), SDM (Delhi), then the MEA apostille.

Video summary: hotel management, IT, ITI and other diplomas all follow the same apostille procedure. Check the checklist from your employer or institution first: if it asks for HRD, the diploma goes through State HRD attestation; if not, most diplomas take the SDM route (notary, SDM, then the MEA apostille). An apostille works for Hague Convention countries such as the UK, Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia. The UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and some other Gulf countries need embassy attestation instead, which InFinityGro also handles. You can courier your diploma from anywhere; it is processed in Delhi and couriered back.

First question: who awarded the diploma?

Nothing about the route or the cost of a polytechnic diploma apostille can be settled until this is clear, and the answer is printed on the certificate rather than on the college gate. These are the kinds of document we see.

A State Board of Technical Education

The commonest case in polytechnic diploma apostille work. Three-year polytechnic diplomas in engineering, pharmacy, architecture and allied trades are awarded by a State board or council of technical education, which sits under the State's technical education department rather than its higher education department.

Most polytechnic diplomas

A university

Some diplomas, particularly post-graduate diplomas and those from technological universities, are awarded by a university in its own name. Verification then follows the university registrar, exactly as a degree would.

PG diplomas and university awards

The ITI and vocational training system

A National Trade Certificate from an Industrial Training Institute is issued through the National Council for Vocational Training or its State counterpart, under the Directorate General of Training. It is a different system from the polytechnic boards and is verified separately.

ITI trade certificates

A professional or statutory body

Diplomas and certificates from bodies such as the nursing councils, pharmacy councils and maritime training authorities carry their own verification route, usually alongside a council registration number.

Council-issued qualifications

A private institute with no board behind it

The difficult case. If nothing recognised stands behind the certificate, there is no signature a State authority can trace, so the chain cannot start. We would rather tell you that before you spend anything than after.

Six things that move Diploma Certificate Apostille Attestation Fees

Any firm that quotes diploma certificate apostille attestation fees without asking these first is guessing at your expense.

1The awarding body

A board-awarded polytechnic diploma, a university-awarded diploma and an ITI trade certificate each go to a different authority for the step before the Ministry. Where we join the chain decides how much of it we are running.

2Whether an embassy is involved

Hague Convention destinations finish at the apostille. The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait do not, and the embassy stage they require carries its own per-document charge. This is the largest single swing in any diploma quote.

3Which country, exactly

Each mission sets its own charge, and they are far apart. Two fitters from the same workshop heading to two different Gulf countries will be quoted differently for identical certificates.

4How many documents travel together

Technicians rarely send one piece of paper. A diploma, the semester marksheets, an ITI certificate and a school certificate posted together share one journey instead of paying for four.

5Courier, collection and timing

Dropping documents at the Delhi office costs less than tracked courier both ways from another State, and a genuinely urgent deadline is priced differently from a normal one.

6Translation, where a consulate asks

A handful of European consulates want a sworn translation alongside the apostilled diploma. It is separate work with a separate charge, and we flag it before you commit.

Gulf employment, which is where most diploma files are going

Polytechnic diploma apostille and trade certificate files travel abroad for work far more often than for study, and the Gulf takes the largest share by a distance. That makes the destination the single most important line in diploma certificate apostille attestation fees.

Apostille is enough

Saudi Arabia joined the Hague Convention in December 2022, and Oman and Bahrain are members too, so for those three the apostille sticker completes the file. The same applies to Germany, Poland, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United Kingdom, where diploma holders go for skilled trades and technician roles.

Attestation plus an embassy stamp

The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait have not joined. A diploma going to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Doha or Kuwait City needs MEA attestation and then legalisation at that country's embassy in New Delhi. See UAE attestation, Qatar embassy attestation and Kuwait embassy attestation.

Several Gulf authorities also run their own primary source verification on technical qualifications, writing to the board directly. That is separate from legalisation and separately charged. Membership of the convention changes from time to time, so check the official HCCH status table or ask us before assuming which column you are in.

Why a batch lowers diploma certificate apostille attestation fees

Most of what a polytechnic diploma apostille costs is movement, not paperwork. A file travels from the notary to the magistrate to the Ministry and sometimes on to an embassy, then home again, and that journey happens once whether the envelope holds one certificate or six.

Technicians usually need more than one document anyway. A polytechnic diploma on its own rarely satisfies a Gulf employer; the semester marksheets, a 10th certificate and often an ITI trade certificate travel with it. Sending them in a single envelope is materially cheaper than discovering a gap three weeks later and paying for a second round.

The reverse holds too. One certificate, sent urgently, by itself, to a Gulf embassy is the least efficient way to buy this service, and an honest quote will show that rather than hide it.

What diploma certificate apostille attestation fees do not include

Being straight about the edges of the job is worth more than a low headline figure, so here is what sits outside diploma certificate apostille attestation fees from us.

Outside our scope

  • Board or university verification. We do not apply to a State Board of Technical Education, a university or an ITI on your behalf, and we do not charge for it.
  • State technical education authentication. Arranged by you with the department concerned; whatever they charge is paid to them.
  • Primary source verification and equivalency. Gulf verification services and destination-country equivalency certificates are separate processes with their own fees.
  • Translation. Quoted separately where a consulate requires a sworn version, so you can see its cost on its own.
  • Visa and work permit charges. Paid to the mission or portal handling your visa, not to us.
  • Re-issue of a lost or damaged certificate. Only the awarding board or institute can do that.

INFINITYGRO is a private facilitation service, not a government authority. No agency can skip a statutory step or guarantee an outcome that rests with the Ministry or an embassy, and anyone promising a shortcut is selling something other than this service.

Getting a written quote for diploma certificate apostille fees

There is no form and no charge for asking. Four things let us price diploma certificate apostille attestation fees for your file properly.

  1. Photograph the certificate and send it on WhatsApp. We are reading the name of the awarding board or university, which decides the whole route.
  2. Name the destination country and send the employer's own checklist if you have one. That settles whether an embassy stage applies.
  3. List everything else travelling — marksheets, ITI certificate, school certificates, family documents — so the batch is priced as one job.
  4. Give us the deadline. If it cannot be met you will be told so, not strung along.

What to send once the quote is agreed

Nothing unusual, and sending it all at once avoids a second round of courier. Diploma certificate attestation and diploma certificate apostille work start from the same set, so one batch covers both routes.

  • The original diploma certificate, flat and unlaminated
  • The certificate already carrying the board or State stamp, if that step is done
  • Semester marksheets or the consolidated statement, which Gulf employers usually ask for
  • ITI or trade certificate, where you hold one alongside the diploma
  • A passport copy, photo page and address page
  • The signed authorisation letter, from the template we email
  • Return address and mobile number, unless you are collecting

Our note on common mistakes during certificate apostille is worth five minutes, and the HRD attestation guide explains the State stage if your destination insists on it. The degree certificate fees page covers university awards.

FAQs on diploma certificate apostille attestation fees

The questions technicians and diploma holders ask us most about diploma certificate apostille attestation fees, answered without the sales patter.

Who actually awarded my diploma, and why does it decide the fees?

Look at the certificate rather than the college board outside. Most three-year polytechnic diplomas in India are awarded by a State Board or Council of Technical Education, not by a university, and that board is a different department from the one that handles degrees. Some diplomas are awarded by a university instead, and ITI trade certificates come from a different system again. Which of these you hold decides which desk authenticates it, and that is the first thing that shapes diploma certificate apostille attestation fees.

Is an ITI trade certificate the same as a polytechnic diploma?

No, and treating them as the same causes rejections. An ITI certificate is a National Trade Certificate issued through the National Council for Vocational Training or its State equivalent, under the Directorate General of Training. A polytechnic diploma comes from a State Board of Technical Education. Both can be legalised and both are widely accepted by Gulf employers, but the body that verifies them is different, so tell us which one you hold.

Why are diploma files more often Gulf files than degree files?

Because that is where the demand is. Technicians, fitters, electricians, welders, draughtsmen, lab staff and machine operators are recruited in large numbers by the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait, and those employers ask for the trade qualification rather than a degree. It matters for cost, because three of those countries sit outside the Hague Convention and need an embassy stage on top of the Ministry.

Does an apostille cover me for a Gulf job, or do I need attestation?

It depends on the country. Saudi Arabia joined the Hague Convention in December 2022, and Oman and Bahrain are members too, so an apostille finishes the job for those three. The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait have not joined, so a diploma going there needs MEA attestation followed by legalisation at that country's embassy in New Delhi. That extra stage is the single biggest difference between two diploma quotes.

My employer has asked for DataFlow or equivalency as well. Is that the same thing?

No, it is separate work and separate money. Primary source verification services used by some Gulf authorities write directly to your board or institute to confirm the award, and an equivalency certificate is issued by the destination country's own ministry. Legalisation, which is what this page is about, is the chain of stamps that makes the paper itself usable abroad. You may well need both; they are not substitutes.

I have a one-year diploma from a private institute. Can it be apostilled?

Only if a recognised authority stands behind it. The legalisation chain works by verifying a signature that a government body can trace. A certificate from a private training institute with no board or university affiliation often cannot be authenticated at the State stage, and an employer abroad is likely to reject it anyway. Send us a photograph before you pay anything and we will tell you honestly whether it can be carried through.

Does the apostille sticker itself have a government charge?

Yes. The Ministry of External Affairs charges a fixed statutory amount for each document it apostilles, identical anywhere in India, and it is only a small part of the total. Everything else in diploma certificate apostille fees depends on your route, the destination and the number of certificates travelling together.

Does an apostille on a diploma expire?

No. An apostille carries no expiry date, whatever you may read elsewhere. What does happen is that some Gulf employers and a few licensing bodies ask for an attestation issued within the last three or six months. That is their own policy, not a property of the apostille. Check with whoever is asking before you pay to redo work that is already valid.

Do you handle the State Board of Technical Education stage?

No. INFINITYGRO carries out the Delhi side: Notary, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, the Ministry of External Affairs and embassy legalisation. Authentication by a State Board of Technical Education, a university or the NCVT system is arranged by the certificate holder, and anything those bodies charge is paid to them directly. We take the file over from the Ministry stage once their stamp is on it.

Can I send my diploma, marksheets and other documents together?

Yes, and it costs less than sending them separately. Handling, travel between counters and courier are shared across a batch, so a diploma, the semester marksheets, an ITI certificate and a passport-size set of family documents posted in one envelope are quoted as one job. Most of the price of a single-certificate file is the journey, and the journey happens once.
