Honduras Embassy Attestation Fees 2026: MEA Apostille for Jobs, Family and Trade

Honduras opened an embassy in New Delhi in May 2025, and many applicants now assume their certificates must be stamped there. They do not. Here is the route Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula accept.

Short answer: Honduras joined the Hague Apostille Convention with effect from 30 September 2004. An Indian document therefore needs domestic verification followed by a single MEA apostille; the Honduran embassy does not add a legalisation stamp. Once in Honduras, most offices will want a Spanish translation of the apostilled paper.

Does the new Honduran embassy in Delhi stamp Indian certificates?

No. India and Honduras are both parties to the 1961 Hague Convention, so the Ministry of External Affairs sticker is the last authentication an Indian public document needs. The embassy in Vasant Vihar serves Honduran citizens and visitors; it does not certify Indian records.

Older pages still describe a chain ending at a Honduran mission; following them only adds cost. What decides your timeline is Indian pre-verification by the education department, the Home Department or SDM, or a Chamber of Commerce.

Who asks for apostilled Indian papers in Honduras?

Factory and maquila managers

Apparel plants around San Pedro Sula and Choloma hire production and quality specialists, who show a degree or diploma, experience letters and a police certificate.

Call-centre and IT staff

Bilingual contact centres serving North American clients hire Indian team leads and trainers, who present their qualification and a clean police record.

Two-wheeler and pharma sales

Bajaj, Hero, TVS and Mahindra vehicles and Indian generic medicines sell widely; their country managers bring apostilled degrees and experience letters.

Families joining a worker

A spouse needs an apostilled marriage certificate and each child a birth certificate, linking dependants to the main applicant.

In short: academic records prove the qualification behind your permit, the PCC proves a clean record in India, and family certificates establish relationships for dependant residence.

Honduras Embassy Attestation: Degree certificate attestation for Honduras with MEA apostille certificate

Marriage certificate attestation for Honduras and other personal records

Personal documents skip the education department: birth and marriage certificates or notarised affidavits go to the state Home Department, or an SDM for Delhi papers, before the MEA apostille. A police clearance certificate issued through Passport Seva or a Regional Passport Office is the exception: it travels directly to MEA.

  • Marriage certificate from the Registrar of Marriages, needed when a spouse applies as a dependant.
  • Birth certificate attestation for Honduras for every child joining a parent, and sometimes for the worker's own residence file.
  • PCC attestation for Honduras, usually requested fresh, so apply close to your filing date.
  • Experience certificate attestation for Honduras on company letterhead, signed and notarised.
  • Single status affidavit for Indians marrying a Honduran citizen.
  • Divorce decree, death or medical certificate, power of attorney as the case requires.

Commercial document attestation for Honduras exporters

India sells far more to Honduras than it buys: medicines, cotton yarn, chemicals, two- and three-wheelers, auto parts and machinery lead. Honduran importers and the health regulator ask suppliers for:

  • Pharmaceutical registration set: COPP, GMP certificate, free sale certificate, manufacturing licence
  • Commercial invoice, packing list and Certificate of Origin
  • Exclusive distribution or agency agreement with a Honduran importer
  • Letter of authorisation naming the local representative
  • Certificate of incorporation, MOA, AOA and board resolution
  • Company power of attorney, GST certificate and IEC

Yarn suppliers to maquila factories in the free-zone regimes mostly need origin and invoice papers. Each is endorsed by a Chamber of Commerce in India and apostilled by MEA; no Honduran consular step follows.

Honduras apostille FAQ

Do I need the Honduras embassy in New Delhi to attest my documents?

No. Honduras has been an Apostille Convention member since 30 September 2004, so Indian documents need only state or chamber verification and the MEA apostille. The Honduran embassy, opened in Delhi in 2025, does not add a stamp.

What are Honduras embassy attestation fees?

All-inclusive: ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 for a PCC, from ₹1,500 for a birth certificate, ₹1,500 to ₹2,500 for a marriage certificate. Degrees depend on state and university; commercial papers are priced per document. No embassy fee.

How long does degree certificate attestation for Honduras take?

Roughly one to three weeks, mainly depending on how quickly the state education department verifies the degree. The MEA apostille itself is usually quick once verification is complete.

Is marriage certificate attestation for Honduras needed for my wife's residence?

Yes, a spouse joining a worker is normally processed as a dependant, and Honduran immigration needs proof of the marriage. A registrar-issued certificate is verified by the Home Department, apostilled by MEA and translated into Spanish.

Do Honduran offices accept English documents?

Usually not on their own; they generally ask for a Spanish translation. Get the apostille first, then translate the full document including the sticker, using a translator accepted by the office receiving your file.

Which documents do maquila employers in San Pedro Sula ask for?

Usually the degree or textile diploma, experience letters from previous mills or garment units, and a police clearance certificate. Some also ask for the passport-size photo set and medical certificate.

Can a Passport Seva PCC be apostilled directly?

Yes. A police clearance certificate issued by Passport Seva or a Regional Passport Office goes straight to MEA without Home Department verification, making it the fastest item in most Honduras files.

How do pharma exporters handle commercial document attestation for Honduras?

COPP, GMP and free sale certificates, along with invoices and agency agreements, are endorsed by a Chamber of Commerce in India and then apostilled by MEA. Translation into Spanish is normally done for the Honduran registration file.

How can someone in Honduras check my apostille?

The MEA apostille carries a unique number and QR code, which the receiving authority can check online against the exact document it was issued for.

Do I need birth certificate attestation for Honduras for my children?

Yes, each child joining a parent normally needs an apostilled birth certificate, translated into Spanish, to prove the relationship for dependant residence and for school admission in Honduras.

Can you apostille documents for an Indian marrying a Honduran citizen?

Yes. Usually a birth certificate and a single status affidavit are needed, each verified by the Home Department or SDM, apostilled by MEA and translated into Spanish in Honduras.
