Mozambique Embassy Attestation in India
Mozambique embassy attestation for Indian degrees, marksheets, experience certificates, birth and marriage certificates and company documents. Mozambique is not an apostille country, so after notary, SDM and MEA attestation the High Commission of Mozambique in New Delhi legalises each document. We manage the full chain and arrange Portuguese translations when asked.

What is Mozambique embassy attestation?
Mozambique embassy attestation is the legalisation that lets an Indian document be used before Mozambican ministries, employers, schools and notaries. Mozambique has not joined the Hague Apostille Convention, so the Ministry of External Affairs attests the document rather than apostilling it, and the High Commission of Mozambique in New Delhi then legalises the MEA stamp.
Mozambique has long-standing links with India through its Indian-origin community and trade, and more recently through Indian investment in coal, natural gas and agriculture. Our files come from Indian engineers and managers posted to Maputo and the provinces, from exporters of medicines, rice, vehicles and machinery, and from Mozambican students who studied in India. Translation into Portuguese is often part of the job.
Mozambique needs embassy attestation, not an apostille
Mozambique is not listed in the HCCH Apostille Convention status table (checked October 2026). For that reason an Indian apostille is not accepted in Mozambique. The document must carry MEA attestation, which the Mozambique High Commission then legalises.

FAQs: Mozambique embassy attestation
Will Mozambique accept a document with an MEA apostille?
No. Mozambique is outside the Apostille Convention, so an apostille on its own will not be accepted. The MEA must attest your document, and the High Commission of Mozambique in New Delhi must then legalise it. We arrange the notary, SDM, MEA and High Commission stages for you.
How much does Mozambique embassy attestation cost?
We charge Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per personal or educational document for the MEA stage, covering notary, SDM, the Rs 50 MEA fee and our service. The Mozambique High Commission’s fee is extra and is stated in your written quote, as are courier and translation charges.
Do my documents need to be translated into Portuguese?
Quite possibly. Portuguese is Mozambique’s official language, and ministries, notaries and employers there may well ask for a translation. INFINITYGRO arranges Portuguese translations priced per page. Check with the Mozambican office whether it accepts a translation made in India before we start.
How long should I allow for Mozambique?
Roughly 5 to 8 working days after the originals reach our Delhi office, with the High Commission’s processing taking most of that time. If you also need a Portuguese translation, allow a few extra days. Courier time is separate, and we give you a target date in writing.
Can you legalise documents for a company setting up in Mozambique?
Yes. Certificates of incorporation, memorandum and articles, board resolutions and powers of attorney are attested by a Chamber of Commerce, then by the MEA, and then legalised by the Mozambique High Commission. We quote every stage in writing and can arrange Portuguese translations alongside.
I am going to work on a project in Mozambique. Which papers are usually needed?
Employers generally ask for the degree, experience letters and sometimes a police clearance certificate for the work permit. The exact list depends on the employer and the Mozambican authority. Ask for it in writing and send it with your originals; we legalise only the documents named.
Can I bring my documents to your office?
Yes. You can drop them off at our office in New Ashok Nagar, Delhi, Monday to Saturday. If you live elsewhere, courier the originals to us. We do not pick up from homes. Once legalised, your papers travel back by Blue Dart or another secure courier.
Can a Mozambican student’s Indian degree be legalised?
Yes. Send the original degree, all marksheets or the transcript and a copy of the Mozambican passport. We complete notary, SDM and MEA attestation and the High Commission stamp, and we can arrange a Portuguese translation if the ministry at home wants one.
