Tunisia Embassy Attestation in India
Tunisia embassy attestation for degrees, marksheets, birth and marriage certificates and business papers. Since 2018 Tunisia has applied the Hague Apostille Convention with India, so the MEA apostille replaces the embassy stamp. We arrange notary, SDM and the apostille in Delhi and return your documents by Blue Dart.

Does Tunisia need embassy attestation or an apostille?
Tunisia embassy attestation is what most people search for, but for Tunisia the step that actually matters is the MEA apostille. Tunisia joined the Apostille Convention, and the Convention has been in force between Tunisia and India since 30 March 2018. A document apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs is accepted in Tunisia without a further stamp from the Embassy of Tunisia in New Delhi.
We see Tunisia files from Indian engineers and managers posted to projects there, from Tunisian researchers and scholarship holders finishing courses in India, and from exporters of vehicles, machinery, cotton and rice. Personal and educational documents pass through a notary and the SDM in Delhi before the apostille; commercial papers go to a Chamber of Commerce first.
Tunisia accepts the MEA apostille
Tunisia acceded to the Apostille Convention on 10 July 2017 and it entered into force there on 30 March 2018 (HCCH status table, checked October 2026). Germany, Austria and Greece objected to the accession and Belgium later withdrew its objection, but India raised none, so the Convention operates between India and Tunisia.

FAQs: Tunisia embassy attestation
Is the Tunisian Embassy stamp needed after the MEA apostille?
Not normally. Tunisia applies the Hague Apostille Convention with India, so the apostille issued by the Ministry of External Affairs is enough for Tunisian authorities. The Embassy of Tunisia in New Delhi does not have to legalise an apostilled document. If a Tunisian office tells you otherwise, send us its request and we will check.
Since when does Tunisia accept apostilles from India?
The Convention entered into force for Tunisia on 30 March 2018, according to the HCCH status table. India did not object to Tunisia’s accession, so Indian apostilles have been valid there from that date. Older advice telling you to visit the Tunisian Embassy dates from before 2018.
What is the fee for a Tunisia apostille?
Our all-inclusive charge for a personal or educational document is Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500. It covers notary, SDM attestation, the Rs 50 MEA fee and our service. Courier is extra. Commercial documents add a Chamber of Commerce fee and are quoted in writing.
Do Tunisian authorities need my documents in Arabic or French?
Many Tunisian offices work in Arabic, and French is widely used too, so a translation is often requested. INFINITYGRO arranges Arabic and French translations, priced per page. Check with the receiving office whether the translation should be done before or after the apostille.
Can you apostille my Indian degree for a job in Tunisia?
Yes. Send the original degree, the marksheets and a passport copy. We arrange notary and SDM attestation in Delhi, then the MEA apostille, and courier the documents back. The usual time is 2 to 3 working days after they reach us, plus courier.
How are export documents handled for Tunisia?
A Chamber of Commerce first certifies the invoice, certificate of origin or company document. The MEA then apostilles the chamber’s signature. No step at the Tunisian Embassy is required. We give you the chamber and MEA costs in a written quote before starting.
I am a Tunisian researcher in India. Can my fellowship certificate be apostilled?
Usually yes, if it was issued by an Indian university or recognised institution. Send us a scan first so we can check whether it can go through the notary and SDM route, then courier the original. We return it apostilled and ready for use in Tunisia.
Can I hand over my documents in person?
Yes, you can bring them to our office in New Ashok Nagar, Delhi, Monday to Saturday. Clients outside Delhi courier the originals to us. There is no home pickup. We send the apostilled documents back by Blue Dart or another secure courier.
